We continue to be somewhat “homebodies”.   It is so hot outside and we are just enjoying staying in and playing with our princess.  For those of you who know us best you know this is not our style!  I think that is why we are loving it so much!!

Tonight though we hit the town with the VanWinkles.  They got us tickets to see the water puppets.  This is traditional show here in Vietnam and was amazing to watch.  You sit in a small theathre (with A/C..YEAH!) and on the stage is a small lake and up along the side balcony is a full band (around 10).  They play traditional Vietnamse folk music and the entire show is in Vietnamese.  The puppets are beautifully crafted of wood and their movements look very lifelike.  The show was about an hour long and Lauren was very good…for most of it atleast!!!

Afterward we all went to dinner at Bobby Chinns.  This is now our 3rd time there!! They have wonderful (western menu) food!!!  I know…. we should be brave and try the local cuisine.  But then again… for those of you who really know us you KNOW that will never happen!!!  Lauren and Corinne (VanWinkle) were little dolls.  I tell you it is like walking around with rock stars with these little girls.  Everyone stops to talk to them and smile and wish us well.  We are overwhelmed with the people of Vietnam.  They are all so gracious and nice. 

Lauren continues to warm up to us and her personalilty is starting to shine.  She is so sweet and calm.  She fusses, but she hardly cries.  And when she does it is so quite you are not even sure if she is just whining. 

We leave for the morning for a day trip to Ha Long Bay.  It is about a 3 hour drive (we got a private bus and tour guide….all 7 families here are going together) and then we have lunch on the boat as we tour the bay.  We will not be home until the late evening, but are really looking forward to being with everyone again.
